Dacre House is a wonderfully independent, community-friendly practice dedicated to providing high-quality, reasonably priced veterinary care for pets and their owners in and around Tunbridge Wells. Due to growth and increasing demand, we are looking to take on an additional Veterinary Surgeon, with immediate effect, to expand our team. Could that be you?

The role:

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will need to be proficient and comfortable with a range of consultations and surgical procedures conducted in first-opinion small animal practice.

The candidate will be qualified, RCVS registered and ideally have a minimum of two years’ UK experience – though in terms of experience all applications will be considered.

Dacre House is looking for a caring team player with excellent communication skills. In return, the candidate will be part of a highly supportive and experienced clinical team.

This role itself is being offered on a permanent, full-time basis: 40 hours per week across 4 days per week and two Saturday mornings (9am – 12.30pm) in every five. Applications for a part-time role will also be considered.

Continuous development and progression are important to the practice as they expand across two sites and evolve with the ever-advancing times.

The practice is looking for someone to deliver an excellent standard of patient care. The team has a strong work ethic pursuing a high quality of clinical care in a compassionate setting.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an expanding team with a busy and varied caseload. Dacre House has a friendly and experienced team of vets, most of whom have been with the clinic for many years. The practice:

Dacre House has been serving the pet owners of Tunbridge Wells and surrounding area for over 30 years and is very well-known and respected. The practice enjoys an excellent local reputation.

The team is made up currently of 11 vets, 3 VNs and lots of experienced support staff, always willing to lend a helping hand. They encourage the sharing of best practices, advice on cases, and developing ideas for progression and improvement. A good number of staff have been at the clinic for many years and Dacre House takes the welfare of its team very seriously, encouraging open and honest discussion and offering a variety of social events too.

The clinic has everything you would expect to see in a well-equipped first opinion practice, including laparoscopy, ultrasonography, digital radiography and lab suite. The kit is well-maintained and continually upgraded to keep up-to-date.

To meet increasing demand the practice opened a new branch clinic in 2021. The new branch has proved highly popular and there are exciting building plans underway to extend and develop the branch site later this year.

As a location, Tunbridge Wells is one of the best in the UK, not only for its culture and outstanding beauty, but also for the nearby countryside and its excellent links to London, Gatwick airport and the coast. Voted one of the best places to live in the UK time and time again, this really is a great place to be.
