On Saturday the 27th of November, VCF members met up across Scotland. One group met in Lauder (Scottish Borders) for a great time of fellowship over food, a walk and time spent looking at God’s Word together. It has been over two years since we last met and it was great to meet old and new faces from across the Borders and Edinburgh including some students from Edinburgh Vet School.
We looked at Acts 8 where Philip is sent to speak to the Ethiopian eunuch on the road. We had a great time of discussion looking at what gives us courage to tell others the Gospel and how to trust and respond if like Philip, God tells us to get up and go with no further instructions! We encouraged each other by sharing stories of our own and others journeys to faith and that when we step out in faith and share the Gospel, we are not small and alone but backed by the mighty king of the universe!
We finished with the challenge to ourselves that on Monday mornings when someone asks us about our weekend we won’t gloss over church and the importance of the time we spend in bible study and prayer but use it as a lead in for a discussion of the Gospel!
