On Saturday 11th May, VCF Lothian and Borders Regional group had a long-awaited meet up! We had a fantastic time getting to know each other and discovering that there were VCF members on our doorstep that we never knew existed! We were blessed with the first warm and sunny day of the year for a walk at Gore Glen Woodland, including some cave exploring for the kids and dogs and some interesting navigating over mud and tree roots for those carrying the buggy! We then enjoyed a lovely BBQ and the warm hospitality of Chris and Emma. It was great to see those that had been practicing for many years passing on their wisdom to younger members, including those currently job searching. Students, children and spouses had fun lounging in hammocks and playing card games and enjoying the trampoline!
It is great to meet up with other local members, no matter how sporadically that occurs. It reminds me of the ties that bind us, our shared faith and profession, and how we can encourage each other.
