Northern Weekend 2026

The 2026 Northern VCF Weekend will take place of 6th to 8th February at Blencathra centre in the North Lakes.

We are delighted to invite you to the beautiful Blencathra Centre, near Keswick in Cumbria for our 2026 Northern Weekend. Nestled in the heart of the Lake District, the centre is offering us exclusive use of the entire site. With plenty of on-site accommodation—ranging from smaller rooms to shared spaces—plus welcoming communal areas, recreational facilities, and full catering, it is the perfect place to enjoy fellowship, refreshment, and teaching together. The lovely grounds and dramatic surrounding landscapes also make it an ideal spot to rest and recharge.

This year, we’re thrilled to welcome back Tim Proudlove as our speaker. Many will remember Tim from the 2018 Northern Weekend, where his teaching was so well-received that we couldn’t resist asking him to return.

Tim spent much of his life in Scotland, but also studied and worked in Canada for several years. He has degrees in veterinary science, theology and biblical languages, and is currently working towards a PhD in philosophy. His work has taken him from being a veterinary surgeon to a calling in full-time ministry. After a decade as lead pastor of a Baptist church in Orkney, Tim has more recently joined Capernwray Bible College, where he serves in teaching and pastoral care.

Together, we’ll reflect on what it means to be created in God’s image, how this shapes our identity, and what it means for our lives, work, and relationships today.

We’re really excited about our new venue  so come and join us for a weekend of encouragement, challenge, and community in one of the most inspiring settings in the UK.  The centre requires numbers a few months in advance, so we do need to know promptly if you would like, and are able, to come. So please do make signing up a priority!
